Online Hydrangea Workshop

Learn how to paint beautiful hydrangeas with easy to follow steps and techniques demonstrated over Zoom video conferencing.  This two-part live demonstration series will cover wet-in-wet underpaintings, negative painting, pulled edges, glazing and colour mixing, showing Jennifer’s painting process from start to completion.  Students will have two views of the demo on screen with a camera positioned above Jennifer’s painting and another straight on.  You can participate with your camera and microphone off but can ask questions in real time through the chat function.  All demonstration sessions will be recorded so participants can watch the steps over as many times as they like.  During the demonstrations, students can paint along or watch and complete the painting later.

In addition, this workshop includes two weekly group critique sessions.  A few days after the demo, students can email pictures of their paintings to Jennifer for discussion, questions, and further explanations.  During group critique sessions you can opt to have your camera and microphone on for live discussion.

The hydrangea workshop includes a digital reference photo, supply list, detailed notes package, and four 1-hour class sessions (2 x 1hr demos and 2 x 1hr critiques).

This online workshop is great for students who are fairly new to watercolour as well as more experienced painters.  It will get you motivated to paint with lots of instruction you can apply to future floral and still life paintings!  Don't worry if you are new to Zoom.  A test session will be offered to ensure you will be able to connect!
